Synergy Services Children’s Center earns AIA Central States Design Excellence Award

Each year the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Central States Region recognizes the most exceptional projects and firms throughout the five-state region at their annual Excellence in Design awards. The 2019 awards ceremony, hosted in Saint Louis, Missouri, recognized the work of Helix Architecture + Design for the Synergy Services’ Children’s Center, receiving a Merit award in the Architecture category.

“It was a special project in so many ways and deserves the recognition it gets as an architectural success.”

Within the past year, Synergy Services has garnered awards from local and regional chapters of the AIA, as well as an Inspirations Award from Contract magazine. As a firm that strives to empower our communities through thoughtful and beautiful design, we appreciate the attention our projects receive and the causes they serve.

“It was a special project in so many ways and deserves the recognition it gets as an architectural success. Of course we love that it is highlighted for that, but it also brings awareness to the issue of homeless children. Thank you for bringing those two worlds together in your design.”

— Dennis Meier / Co-Executive Director, Synergy Services

This year’s jury was comprised of an esteemed group of innovative designers: jury chair J. Frano Violich, FAIA, partner at Kennedy & Violich Architects; Yolande Daniels, M. Arch, partner at Studio SUMO; and Sharon Johnston, FAIA, principal at Johnston Marklee

Congratulations to Synergy Services, JE Dunn, Confluence, PKMR, Bob D. Campbell, SK Design Group, and our team members that helped make this award winning project a reality!
