National Museum of Toys & Miniatures
Making a large impact with small treasures
The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures of Kansas City is the only museum of its kind, visited by children of all ages. Located on the University of Missouri—Kansas City’s campus, it features both a comprehensive collection of folk and antique toys, along with one of the largest collections of fine miniatures found anywhere in the world. Helix has assisted the museum with two renovations and expansions, including the most recent in 2015, which completely reconfigured the space and museum experience. The updated space has been met with rave reviews, both locally and nationally. In the first year after reopening, the museum nearly doubled attendance from 21,000 to 40,000 and membership increased over 300 percent.
Location: Kansas City, MO

“The people who have been here before are saying that they really like the engaging nature of the new exhibits. [The museum is now] more of a multigenerational experience with more things that people can touch and interact with.”
Jamie Berry, museum director
