Hill Hall Renovation
Reinvigorating a historic campus landmark
One of the three original buildings on the Missouri State University campus, Hill Hall was completed in 1924 and is located along the university’s historic main quadrangle. The four-story building was insufficiently housing academic space and faculty offices for both the College of Education and the Department of Psychology.
Location: Springfield, MO
Size: 63,000 SF
Outdated and lacking the functionality required, the school desired to address substantial ADA challenges within the building while providing an updated environment that responds to the needs of students and faculty. The university’s goal was to utilize the existing space more efficiently without altering the footprint of the historic building. The design team worked with stakeholders to create a solution that provides right-sizing for faculty offices, integrates more collaborative spaces throughout for faculty and aligns all academic spaces with the latest technology and pedagogy. The renovated building balances the needs for workplace and academic environments.
