KCU Campus Master Plan

Invigorating the future of health education through design

Kansas City University (KCU), one of the oldest and largest osteopathic medical schools in the country, chose Helix to guide them through a campus-wide facilities audit and space evaluation study to determine a long range plan for the future. Faculty, students, staff, and leadership were engaged in Helix’s collaborative process influencing the proposed options and final recommendation every step along the way. The 2013 Campus Master Plan outlines a clear vision for the future with regards to campus reconfiguration, new growth, and cultural change. The University’s objective for this plan is to position KCU as the one of the top schools for medical education in the country.

Location: Kansas City, MO

Our investment of nearly $60 million to renovating existing structures and build new facilities makes a strong statement about our commitment to both our academic programs and our community. This five-year campus master plan will create a state-of-the-art medical and health sciences campus in the Northeast neighborhood to support the academic, research and clinical missions of the university.”
