What We Do

Kansas City Young Audiences

Infusing an empty big box store with a new creative spark

After more than fifty years of enriching young people’s lives through the arts, Kansas City Young Audiences purchased their first permanent home: an existing building, originally constructed in 1997 as a large box retailer. The design concept features a variety of flexible spaces intended to grow with the organization, as they host various visual and performing arts activities and classes for children. The design establishes a strong sense of place, increasing brand awareness and prominence at KCYA’s new midtown location, while creating a warm and welcoming location for parents and community members alike.
